Maps is open-source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3 (AGPL-3.0). You are free to inspect, run, modify, host, and distribute the application under the terms specified by the license.
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the software or the use or other dealings in the software.
Because places are saved in your local browser sandbox (IndexedDB via PouchDB), clearing browser storage, website cookies, cache, or using temporary profiles will permanently delete your stored data. You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for initiating local backups or setting up cloud synchronization to safeguard your places.
By activating synchronization, you agree to connect directly to the storage APIs operated by Filen. You are bound by Filen's separate Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Maps does not control Filen's servers, storage systems, availability, or rate limits, and holds no liability for service interruptions, sync failures, or data losses experienced on your Filen account.
